Geeksultant.com has been synonymous with terms like Citrix, VDI, Microsoft and VMware for many years. In the past, if you were an end user customer, or a VAR looking to augment your team around VDI projects, Geeksultant was the place to call. That is still true today. The good news, we’ve expanded and now offer services for many other technologies as well.

Geeksultant is a premier provider of IT consultants for all virtual technology projects such as Citrix, Microsoft and VMware directly to our end-user customers. Along with pre-sales, our consultants can also implement and support those product lines for the VARs customers. Our B2B (Business to Business) rates are some of the best in the industry allowing the VAR to resell our services with favorable profit margins in mind.

In other words, we can help you grow your business by becoming an extension of your team. The best part, no employee costs, no office costs.

We provide services around many technologies, including Citrix, Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, Nutanix, Azure, AVD, O365, M365, F5 and many others to our partner VARs and our direct customers.

Companies such as Coca Cola, AT&T, Manheim, Comcast, McCormick, PBS&J, Hoffman La Roche, Brown & Root, Inc., Halliburton Energy Services and many lesser-known companies have relied upon our consultants skills and judgment to direct and grow their I.T. infrastructures, mission-critical applications and business models. NetScaler Classic Policies To Be Fully Deprecated by Q2 2019

Dec
23

If you have created custom policies on your NetScaler, or are using classic policies for authentication, pre-authentication, LDAP, Radius, guess what? By Q2 2019, if you upgrade your NetScaler firmware at that time to a new version, your old classic policies will no longer be supported by the new firmware. For large NetScaler shops this will be a huge change and require a complete programming overhaul of all policies in use on the NetScaler prior to upgrading to a new firmware version with a date in Q2 or later.

FSLOGIX Now Part of Microsoft

Nov
19

With Citrix adding support for Office 365 OST files for Outlook and Outlook Search to UPM (User Profile Management) version 7.18, the competition is responding in kind.

Looks like FSLOGIX is now part of Microsoft - I am sure in an effort to support Office 365 with Outlook OST files in RDS/RDP scenarios.

Citrix UPM (User Profile Management) can now cache Outlook OST Files

Aug
17

One of the biggest headaches with VDI, is the issue of what to do with the Outlook Cached Exchange OST file. Choices are limited - keep it in the profile - which will cause profile bloat and performance issues, or move it to a file share, which eventually becomes a storage performance issue depending on the size of the user base. Don't even get me started with Office 365 (O365) and the direct connection mode to the Exchange mailboxes in the O365 cloud. Horrible performance from within any VDI environment.

Earlier this month, May 2018, Microsoft released a new security patch to address the CredSSP Encryption Oracle issue. In doing so, RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) may be broken on workstations and servers where the patch was deployed.

With this new patch, both the client machine and the destination machine trying to start an RDP session, need to have the new patch installed or an error will occur and RDP connection will be denied.
